How to increase number of send connection
« on: March 24, 2006, 10:03:33 PM »

Hello, I have a little problem : I have a 100K upload broadband, but aMule can open only 2 upload-connection at the same time. And sometimes, the user at the other end download only 1-3K/s, so my bandwith is used less than 10% of its capacity.
How can I increse the number of upload-connection?
Thanks!

Take a look at the preferences->connection and set the slot allocation to - let's say about - 10kb/s.

I have set 50K up, 30K friend slot, 100K capacity up...
For the moment, I have 6K/s upload on 3 clients...
Why we can't set the number of upload-connection manually?

30k friend slot? I have no idea what you are talking about, I can only guess that it's a bad translation from english to your mother's tongue and back. In connections there are these 3 bandwidth settings on the left side (top to bottom):
- Download
- Upload
- Slot allocation

The settings you can see here mean "no limit on downloads, maximum upload 40kb/sec with slots of 5kb/sec each (meaning usually 8 upload slots will be used)"

The two settings on the right are irrelevant, those are only used for stats (What is 100% on the graphs?).

You can actually set set the number of upload connections implicitly:
Number of upload slots == upload bandwidth limit / slot allocation  (see thedude0001's screenshot)

However note that amule has an issue with utilizing your full upload capacity with less than about 5 slots. So if your upload limit is 50KB/s I would set the Slot Allocation to 8KB/s.

Ok it's a very bad translation : "Slot Allocation" -> "Allocation des slots Amis", for me it means "upload max for friends" (if u have friends, it's a bandwith reserved for them).
I suggest to translate it by "Upload par Slot".
Thanks a lot!
