compilled Version of aMule 2.0.2
« on: June 05, 2005, 01:11:04 PM »

I have compilled aMule 2.0.2. You can download it from ed2k-net.

"ed2k://|file|amule-2.0.2.zip|10670377|D3B98E6D45BBCC677107EEF1A0412DE3|h=VTQSCK2M7HZXODHQ7W66ONBQLVLCT436|/"

The only thing that not work is ed2k.exe. If someone know the solution let me know.

PS: mule only run in the night. File has state release

IMHO amule-gui is the only really useful function of amule. Not just for me, but for all the users. If someone wanna use amule on windows, why dont use emule?
I am not saying that amule is useless in windows, i am just trying to say that amule-gui for windows is the more important function of amule for windows. U can see it more like a "complement for the other plataforms amule", cause allow us to control amule in a linux/freebsd/mac using our windows machines...
So when i saw a amule for windows i thought "amule gui will be the first function implemented in windows". I was wrong. I hope i can see this feature working soon.

well its not that our main goal was to get amule working on windows...its was just "ok it works so fine"

about the amule-remote-gui, well thing is taht we are debugging it, but its not such a simple thing ;)
you know windows is not such a developer friendly platform as linux is when it commes to network and socket things  :]

linkhandler
« Reply #6 on: June 08, 2005, 06:03:45 PM »

I have written a new linkhandler programm. It's a hack but it does the job.

Installing it:
1. Extract it to the aMule bin Folder
2. Open regedit to register the ed2k Protocol
2.1 Under "HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT" create a new key called "ed2k"
2.2 Under the new key create 2 keys called "DefaultIcon" and "shell"
2.3 Set the (Default) key value for "DefaultIcon" to "C:\path\to\linkhandle.exe"
2.4 Set the (Default) key value for "ed2k" to "URL:ed2k Protocol"
2.5 Under the key "ed2k" create a new String Value called "URL Protocol" and leaf it empty.
2.6 Create a new key under the "shell" key called "open".
2.7 Create a new key under the "open" key called "command".
2.8 Set the (Default) key value to "C:\Path\to\linkhandle.exe "%l".

The linkhandle app requires that you have your .aMule config directory in your Userdirectory, wich is the default place for it. If you have not changed that preference it should now work.

NSIS Installer
« Reply #8 on: June 08, 2005, 08:10:52 PM »

I have packet the compilled aMule in an Nullsoft installer. It creates and deletes the registry entry's automatically. If aMule does not start the first time, delete the config files in your userdirectory (.aMule). Attention, the Temp folder is in this directory > make first a backup of this.
