Clickable links in Opera don't work
« on: July 02, 2004, 06:49:20 PM »

For a long while, clickable ed2k links worked for me in Opera, using the ed2k helper tool; lately though, they don't (possibly after the latest aMule upgrade, but I'm not sure.

When I click a link, nothing happens in the browser nor in aMule. When I try to manually send aMule a link with the ed2k app, here's what I see:

Code: [Select]

xenon $ ed2k ed2k://|file|Gentoo-Install-x86-Universal-2004.1.iso|706514944|7182CB6F1AD3E2DC4B56B8C5F3D80744|/
Usage: file [-bcikLnNsvz] [-f namefile] [-F separator] [-m magicfiles] file...
       file -C -m magicfiles
Try `file --help' for more information.
bash: Gentoo-Install-x86-Universal-2004.1.iso: command not found
bash: 706514944: command not found
bash: 7182CB6F1AD3E2DC4B56B8C5F3D80744: command not found
bash: /: is a directory

Also, a version check shows:

Code: [Select]
xenon $ ed2k --version
xMule ED2K links parser v1.0

Should it read aMule rather than xMule?  don't think this is the problem, but...

Can anyone help with this issue? Thanks in advance.

Yes, you're using xMule's ed2k handler, not aMule's. remove that ed2k app and install aMule's.
If you installed aMule from sources, just do make install again after removing the ed2k handler.
If you installed from packages, remove the handler and then reinstall the package.
Greetings!

That was it. I removed ed2k, reinstalled aMule and all is fine. Thanks again!  :)
