Hi everybody. Since version 2.1.1 aMule filters by default the BiG BanG servers. I want to ask you if you think that this method is right. I don't think so because the user can't disable this feature! Why they can't??? However, if you want to filter them, you can add in the ipfilter.dat their IPs so they're filtered but the user can choose to disable this feature removing them from the ipfilter.

afaik the filter has been removed in amule cvs version

So in the next version this filter will be removed?

Why would you want fake servers? I don't like people who are harming the network.
Anyway: If you don't like this, change the code. aMule is open source.
-
the point is: are they fake servers? the filter lists from bluetack.co.uk and openmedia.info do not filter them
i think their fault is to promote an emule mod with community support

IIRC: They are fake servers as they show a wrong number of connected users and files.

strange, then there are not so many users on edonkey servers if only DonkeyServer[1-6], ChezToff[1-2], Byte Devils and few others are the only trusted servers of the network
if only the value reported from kad users stat was correct we could determine with good approximation the current network population of the centralized network
assuming that only amule users (almost all) and emule users (only those running a emule version > 0.42) can connect to kademlia network and assuming that the first are about 1% of the network and the second about 90% x 0,95 (0,05 still are running emule0.30 or some old mods)= 85,5% , the edonkey population would be:
number of kademlia users/0,865
however BigBang servers are present in the filtered server list from http://www.gruk.org/list.php that is used as boot list from many clients, moreover they do not have as high connected clients number as many fake servers report just to put them on top of the list, and their fluctuations of connected users during night and day seem regular as those reported from other trusted servers

That's pretty close to the truth.
