Title: aMule crashes when it connects to a server

This just randonly started like an hour ago. I was in the search tab and amule crashed so I ran it again only this time after auto-update servers, and auto-connect on startup, as soon as i'm connected aMule crashes. so (using rpmdrake in mandrake 9.2, gnome) I un-installed and re-installed it but nothing. I rebooted...nothing. should I remove the .amule
directory and try again? or mabe a downgrade is in order? amule is dope and I don't want to be stuck *nix overnet or mldonkey.

try to remove the servers.met only

and post the crash msg plz

there is no "crash msg",   after deleting servers.met it doesn't crash it just freezes, when i activate another window it minimises to the tray and won't come back up.

prefs -> general -> uncheck min. to try and save

try to don't use  the autoupdate serverlist on startup

as you can see from the above post I can't do that because amule freezes right on startup.

my system is NOT just dragging

backup your .aMule dir , remove it and rerun aMule

I think is has to do with my "temp"dir. I just uninstalled, moved /incoming & /temp, deleted everything else, re-installed an it worked fine...untill I put /incoming and /temp back and restarted.. then crash on startup again

ok.. one of your part file is broken . . u have to check now which and delete it ..

add partfile after partfile to your temp dir and if amule crash u know which partfile it is

i just starded deleting partfiles en masse until it worked, then i saw this message, it's easier that way.

doesn't the official emule auto check for corrupted partfiles? (as does kademlia and e-plus) why is this not a feature of amule?

amule does it too .. but the file was not only corrupted

I'm intrigued, what else can go wrong with partfiles to cause them to be "broken"?

phuck, they were, oh let me see.....DELETED! sorry, mabe it will happen again, the first crash was when adding "hellfish & producer- bastard sons of rave" or "hellfish.&.producer.compil.(mp3)...." .
