Title: ed2k Links
Post by: x0rsw1tch on January 09, 2007, 03:22:22 AM
Greets All!

Been using aMule for Fedora for nearly a year now, things are coming along nicely :)

I know this has been documented on the wiki, but for some reason, it just doesnt work for me.

Cant get ed2k links to get from Konqueror 3.5.5-0.2 or Firefox 1.5.0.9 to aMule. I don't know why they arent working.

Well, Firefox pretty much ignores the settings made in about:config stating it doesnt know what to do with the link.

I made the /usr/share/services/ed2k.protocol (root:755) and I get the warning as was alerted in the wiki, but when I allow it, nothing happens. The target dir specified in the ed2k.protocol file is "/usr/bin/amule".

So where did I go wrong?

Hi x0rsw1tch!

The target should be /usr/bin/ed2k (output of which ed2k), not /usr/bin/amule.

Please try it again and hopefully it will work now. :)
