Title: how to connect with kademlia and how to get an high id

I use amule 2.1.2 on xubuntu 6.06 and i was wandering how to connect with the kad network. i heard about to boost somebodies IP who is connected to kademlia

and how to get an high id. I am connected to server ip 87.252.3.167
my tcp port is 25600
my udp port 10010
my maximum upload is set on 11 kB/s
my maximum download is about 200 kB/s

i updated to 2.1.3 but i stil have the same problem....

To connect to kad, you should first get a nodes.dat file. That is acomplished by connecting first only to ed2k network, and after you connect to some clients via ed2k, you will have a bootstrap list of clients to connect to kad. Also, be sure to forward the UDP port, since kad uses it to communicate.

thnx for your post skonick, but the first thing i should do is to get an high id. how can i reach that goal in the first place?
btw i am  a newbie, please explain in a language that a monkey will understand:) :D

OK. First of all, there are lots of posts about how to get a HighID. The most frequent reason for getting lowID is a firewall between your PC and Internet (posibly installed on your PC) or a router which does NAT. For the first, simply get the docs about the firewall, and open the ports you need, taking care is the port is TCP or UDP. For the second, get the instruction manual and forward the right ports to your PC. More info on www.portforward.com.
