Title: Win32 Versions
Post by: MasterKGB on March 04, 2007, 09:13:44 PM
hi
normally I use linux and everything is working well for me.
I like the amule and that's why I told friends (Win32 user) of it.
They can now only use the 2.1.3 with the 4gb limit that's why I tried to compile the amule-cvs with a windows machine.
I followed the wiki but I'm not able to compile amule-cvs. Got the message perl is missing.

Is there anybody can tell me that the wiki works or help me to go the right way?

Hi MasterKGB,

Since recent times, there was the introduction of this perl dependency in aMule code, and it seems that the MSYS distribution does not have the necessary file. I have tried once to compile it (I wanted to update the wiki), but I failed miserably. In any case, I am no windows specialist, so I cannot say I have exausted all possibilities. Any help in that field is going to be very much appreciated.

Cheers!

So basically, win32 versions cannot be compiled?

No, not necessarily . phoenix doesn't know how to compile it, but as he states himself he's no specialist in mingw-compiling using windows.

Any minigw compiling specialist in the house?  ::)

Yes, I will stick with the original version for now and forget about the bug in the gui of not showing the amule statistics...

perl (tried cygwin-perl and active perl) will only work in cmd, not in msys-sh.

But I got stuck a bit further, filled a bug report.
