I have upgraded my wxWidgets 2.6 >>>>> 2.8 and amule seems to be stable : 1 day ago and no crash with the last cvs version. Good !!!!

wxWidgets recompil on Debian etch with /configure --prefix=/usr --with-gtk --enable-unicode --disable-compat24 --enable-optimise && make

so the new version of amule needs wxWidgets 2.8  ???

Not true. If you want, compile wx2.6.3 yourself do not use the library that comes with the distribution.
BUT...
wx-2.6.3 has a bug. aMule will probably crash when you close the search window. In any other situation, aMule is rock stable with wx-2.6.3.

I hope all goes well now.
