Hello,
i just switched back from Vista to XP.
under vista i made my first trys with amule. having it running on a tuxbox and using amulegui to control it.
now i switched back to xp (clean new install) and amulegui is not working anymore.
after starting and entering adress and password the program window disappears and nothing happens.
in the taskmanager is still a process amulegui.exe of about 6MB size but taking 0% CPU time.
any help?

It works on vista?

yes the few days i was using it under vista everything worked smoothly.
thats why i was so surprised that now with xp it is not working anymore

I've got the same problem! In XP, i run amulegui.exe (2.1.3) to connect to my amuled running on Linksys NSLU2 ARM box on my LAN. I type in the password (as I've properly made using hash and put in the config), BUt nothing shows up! amulegui.exe is still running, but has no gui associated! i have to kill it!
Also, i tried amulecmd locally on the NSLU2, it stops with a 'creating client...' and i have to CTRL-C out of it!
Is it something to do with the setup?
TIA,
MadGabZ

This means that communication with core can not be established. Probably firewall filtering packets out.

It works on vista?
That was never intended.

I know, that's why I was surprised that it DOES.

I fixed the problem! It wasn't firewall (which was setup meticulously!), but good ole error 40! I hadn't checked up properly on the right config, and had misconfigured the GUI/Communications port wrong! Which leads to another problem, which again is a NSLU2 specific problem (misplacement of amule.conf, making amuled exec a config in another place than specified in the init.d-script!), so i'll ask some where else!
