I have a file that I'm downloading through amule that shows the size of the file to be 91,02 MBs, while the actual transferred MBs is 74,41. 

However, when I go to that file in the shared menu I see that its size is surprisingly 91 MBs.  But wait.  There's more.  (smile)

When I change the ".part" to the appropriate ending, it appears that I have the entire file.  In all probability, that file may be missing some part(s) in the middle of the file, but I'm not so sure.

What's going on?
