Title: Disaster has struck!
Post by: kuvasz on July 29, 2007, 02:05:11 PM
All of the files I was downloading were deleted.

However, I still have all of the partial files in my shared folder.

Is it possible to restore the downloading process?

You need the partial files and the corresponding .part.met-files. There are backups (.part.met.bak), just rename them and the download should reappear.

If you only have part files it's a bit more complicated. You'll have to know which files you were downloading and which number they had. Then start the download of the old files again. New part files will be created, including a .part.met file. Now you can close aMule, copy the old partfiles over the new (and empty) partfile and on next startup aMule will rehash the files.

I'm a little confused, wui.

Let's say that I had only one file downloading on the download page , and it was titled, "Nice Donkey."

Of course, that file has now been deleted, but looking in my shared folder I see that I have the corresponding files to "Nice Donkey," and they appear in my shared folder like this:

001.part
001.part.met
001.part.met.bak

Given that scenario, could you give me the steps of what I need to do?

Thanks.

You should rename the .part.met file to .part.met.old (for backup purposes) and then rename the .part.met.bak to .part.met, then start aMule and hope it will take your download.

Regards.
