Title: Failure to connect
Post by: kay-angus on September 05, 2007, 09:26:37 PM
Hey, sorry, I am a new aMule-User.

It worked quite fine and I already was able to download a few files, but since a few days, I can't connect to the servers, although my server list contains 50-odd servers. aMule tries to connect the different servers but I always get the error 'Verbindung verloren' / 'Connection lost' ???!!!

What happened there and how can I change that?

Thanks very much for your help!

Actually some Music Association shut down a lot of good german eDonkey servers.

Well, delete all your current servers (or just close amule and "rm -f server.met && server_met.old from ~/.aMule dir) and try this URL to update your server.met:

http://www.server-met.de/dl.php?load=gz

Disable any auto-updates of servers on your prefs aswell.

cheers,
delta

Dunno how to handle gz files with mac, sry.

I'll attach actuall server.met (which is fake servers free) and i hope this will work for u.
Just unzip it and put into your amule folder.

But don't forget to disable all auto-updates!!!

And perhaps it's not widely known yet, but the DonkeyServers 1 through 6 have been shut down by the authorities, so it may be that you try to connect to a dead server.
