Hi guys,
I'm back again.. ;)
Now I've compiled aMule CVS 021007 (with wxMac 2.8.6) and here you can find packages:
Intel (http://www.mediafire.com/?e2e4ybu08ty) (4.62 MB)
Universal Binary (http://www.mediafire.com/?e5ndtzmxn9s) (8.64 MB)
Here a screenshot:

Bye ;)

What's needed?
Tiger, Pather or something else?
-
Thanks for this!
Seems to work fine on 10.4.10 PPC.
It looks so much better with the new toolbar background ;D
-
Could you please post some screenshots of the new background?
-
Here it is, now if the icons could be replaced to, it would actually seem like a whole new client!
-
Looks nice. :)
now if the icons could be replaced
Ay, this should work on Mac already.
Please have a look at the wiki (http://www.amule.org/wiki/index.php/Skins) for some more information about skins and download (http://wuischke.hateworx.org/skins/) and test a skin.
I wanted to do some further testing on Mac and skins some time ago already, but seems that I forgot about this...sorry.

i just tried this latest CVS 021007 version with the gnome-skin as described in the wiki. seems to work ok so far and looks a lot better then the standard icons.
looking a bit more in detail only the big buttons on top of the window are replaced. file rating, status icons and the other small ones stay unchanged.

No matter what you do for the 2.2 release, enable one of the linux skins by default for the mac version. It's unbelievable how much better it looks 8)

I agree with the tango theme amule looks nicer.
-
Well, I don't know. I wanted to do this after 2.2.0, but seeing how the release is further delayed due to some stupid bugs, we might change the default look earlier...
You'll see what will happen. ;)
-
What are the known bugs ?
-
Known bugs (out of my memory, not all of them are release critical):
- Crash on accessing preferences on Win
- Event page in preferences is displayed wrongly on Mac
- Kademlia problems with amuled
- File encoding problems on Linux (maybe other *nix and Mac, too)
-
I had a file with an é or è in it that wouldn't complete before I changed the name.
Also, some non-critical bugs in the mac version is that the toolbar flickers when the Connect/Disconnect button is switching, and that the window at start is too big for my resolution, 1024x768, so I have to press the green button to make it fit.
Another thing is that if I copy in a ed2k link, and it's too long to fit in the ed2k link box, it isn't recognized as an ed2k link.
-
EXCELLENT! Thank you for stepping up on these releases.

Is this going to be a general problem? I often am using fiel with accents or other characters in the name, non-English. Will I encounter any problems? Or is is better I just stick with Amule 2.1.3 which I am now using?
Thank you
-
I hope not, but I cannot promise. I tried to fix this and although it worked for me and some others, it made things even worse for others.
I recommend you to use a developmental version anyway, because the advantages are higher than the disadvantages. But you'll have to rename all files containing an accented character or it will not be shared/complete successfully, I'm sorry.

When you say complete, does that mean finish downloading? Since that could be a high proportion of my usage, what then are the advantages? (Sounds quite a hassle to go into each file, rename it, then try to remember to name it back again once it finishes.)
Thanks

It will download successfully, but It will not copy the finished file to the Incoming folder.
If it isn't too much hassle for you, rename é to e, ñ to n and so on.
Advantages: bugfixes, files bigger than 4GB, protocol obfuscation, a couple of cosmectic features (country flags, skins,...) ...

Hi,
universal binary link doesn't work.
-
I just switched to this new version, from previously using 2.1.3.
With the 2.1.3, I had a problem where Amule would overload my cpu if I was downloading many files at once (15 or so for example). Unfortunately now with this new version it still does the same thing. My Activity Monitor claims that Amule, when in this state, is using up to 150% of my cpu (don't ask me how that's possible!), and my fan is going quite fast!
(Usual condition Amule is using only 16% of cpu)
With the old version, the problem only resolved when Amule automatically stopped all downloads, then they all went from "Downloading" to "Waiting". (This seems not a good final solution!) It seems perhaps this new version is the same?
I have a Macbook, processor is 2GHz and memory 2GB.
The only reason I actually upgraded to this CVS version was because of this problem!
So, is there something I am doing wrong? Could this be due to something I filled in wrong in Preferences?
Thanks!
(By the way should I better post this as a new thread rather than here?)
-
I have answered you in your other thread. I doubt you are doing something wrong.
-
could you please update the link for the Universal Binary?
thx
-
Por favor, yo también necesito que se actualice el link del Universal Binary, que actualmente está roto.
Gracias
