Because I don't see aMule 2.2.0 coming any time soon due to the lack of translations, can you please release a version 2.2.0a for now without the translations, don't tell me to compile the beta, I have no idea what that means and I won't be reading a 10 page manual on how to do it.
-
aMule will be released when it's done, not before. Also, the current CVS is mostly what 2.2.0 will be, so if you do not want to learn to compile it, it's your problem.
Regards.

Aaaaaaw, tsk tsk tsk... Terrible shame, really... I had a rather hefty donation to throw out... I guess it'll be going to the Azureus team, then... Terrible shame eh? To let 300 USD just slip out of your hands as if you had been playing with a lubricant sample you found in a sex magazine... Terrible, terrible.
-
IT IS NOT BECAUSE OF THE TRANSLATIONS, I SAID IT COUNTLESS TIMES.
-
Wow, you might like to... (heh) have Caps-Lock disabled next time.
Phew...
-
It seems the only way for some people to READ.
-
The users are getting cheap, some time ago someone offered 1000$ if we finished in August.
Seriously: We don't have a bounty system, but donations. Donation as in voluntarily and not to pay someone for something. But the server is not paying itself, monetary help is therefore always appreciated.
btw: aMule almost-2.2.0 for Mac: http://forum.amule.org/index.php?topic=13256.0

Ah, thank you.
You know, I have deep pockets and feel generous most of the time, all you have to do is give me a nice word and I'll end up being a broken cash-point spewing out $100 notes.

Can you put all your effort into aMule this week, like forget about Bob's birthday on Tuesday or don't go over to Sally's house tonight for the old up and down, just stay at the office and work on aMule.
Thanks
-
Lol, i think they work on aMule much time, (look CVS)....
But why you (masters) don't release another version is a strange thing for me, too...
Looking eMule, they release very often an updated version...(eMule mods, much often)...
But i think it's the choice of the developers, and we must respect and accept this!
Great work

Fuck you, seriously. Just fuck you. I will attend Bob's birthday or go to Sally's house if I find the time after the HUMONGOUS AMOUNT OF REAL-LIFE WORK AND ISSUES I HAVE. And the other developers would do the same. The new version will be released when we have the time to iron out the problems on CVS, which are several and important. We're not going to release a bugged version just because you're unable to use the CVS one, or just because you annoyingly request us to release a new version over and over again. It will be done when it's done, deal with it. What the hell office, we don't work at aMule for a living, we have jobs, families, friends, and won't give them up because of open source, at least I won't. Sometime I have more free time, some times I have less. This is a "less" period. It will become a "more" period soon, hopefully. But not because you decide to be annoying posting every single day about how you want a release.
As for you, myth, real life issues are always more important than internet, and the CVS version has bugs that can't make into a release. We're working on it when we can.

Agreed. Can I only ask if the infamous amuled KAD disconnections issue is on your to-do list? Just to get in peace with myself ;)
Thank you for your work!
-
Yeah, real life is ALWAYS more important than pc...that's clear...
But why, MuleLover don't you use the CVS? I didn't understand anything of C programming language or amule, when i compiled it the first time!
Just try to see here: http://www.amule.org/wiki/index.php/Compilation_Installation
And if you've Ubuntu you can take the compiled one's from Vollstrecker! ( look here: http://ubuntuz.wordpress.com/feisty-fawn-repository )
-
God, when my friend said that programmers have nerve issues I didn't believe him...
-
Fuck you, seriously. Just fuck you...
I don't think that's the right way to handle people anyway. Even if they're unable or unwilling to read posts that do explain or answer their questions.
Think about it!
-
Let me think about it!
He was telling ME how to spend MY time and YOU come here patronizing me because I got tired enough to tell him to fuck off?
I thought about it!
-
lol...
there are really some posts that should be just ignored...

"Anger. Fear. Aggression. The dark side are they..." :D
Kry, you are right, that's all, but don't bother about such people, simply ignore them!!!
-
Great! In the new CVS the "even if lfroen complains this will stay" has gone !!
;D ;D :D

I say we forgive him this time, but next time he should be banned from the forum.
-
I don't agree. We shouldn't forgive, that's god's job. I suggest banning everyone asking more than one time for 2.2.0 to avoid any more tests of patience for the developers.
Seriously: Even if Kry didn't use nice words, I have to fully agree with him. There are certain people who are really getting on my nerves and make me lose the fun in programming (I don't use aMule and I'm not paid - it's one hobby of many for me) because they keep on asking for something even though they have been answered numerous times already.
We are well aware of the problems aMule faces preventing the release of 2.2.0, but it will still take a while to resolve them, because they are not trivial and many of the developers have little free time for aMule.
So please be patient, we will give you status updates once we've made any progress. Thanks.
-
So the conclusion is... When is the aMule 2.2.0 release date? You should put one of those clocks on the home page counting backwards to the release date, like Apple did for Leopard, although I got mine several days before.
-
MuleLover: aMule is an Open Source project with people working on this stuff in their free time, we are not Apple, who have many people working professionally on a project.
This means that we don't have a strict release plan, because we don't know when someone has the time to do something. But because all of us have a real life, work or university, friends, family and other hobbies or are moving/travelling, there's currently not much time to work on aMule.
We are struggling with some bugs which delay the release of aMule 2.2.0, which are not so easy to resolve, because we have insufficient debug capatilities for this bugs. Kry is working on broadening our development environments to get better debug capatibilities, but this might take a little longer.
aMule for Mac, Linux and *nix is on the other hand almost release-ready and you can safely use current developmental versions.
Conclusion: It is done, when it's done, please use a developmental version in the meantime.
-
Come on, chop chop, get done with it, I haven't got all year...
-
Let me put it straight: Your constant buggering is pissing me off. Stop it or I'll stop it, OK?
-
Come on, chop chop, get done with it, I haven't got all year...
If you are in such a hurry, then finish it yourself. You have no right to hurry people who have given you so much without asking anything from you. And one more annoying post requesting aMule 2.2.0, and either wuischke or me will put it to an end.
Regards.
