I've only been using aMule for a short while and am not quite sure whether it makes a difference to which server am I connected. I noticed that searches come up with slightly different results depending on the server: sometimes a file would come up on one, that wouldn't on the other. I also think that some servers - even though they list a lot of users/files - are just loaded with porn or other crap I'm not interested in. So far I settled on one of the Razorback servers since they seem to be carrying a lot of music I'm looking for. Is there perhaps a list of servers somewhere, with descriptions and IP addresses - or it doesn't work like that?

The servers will exchange sources, so for downloading it shouldn't matter to what server you're connected. For local searches it will make a difference, though. With a local search you will find only files on the clients that are connected to the same server as you. If you would do a global search it doesn't matter to which server you're connected: http://www.amule.org/wiki/index.php/Search

Ahhh, thx for pointing me to the Global Search - never noticed it. I guess it would work better if I could get connected to the Kad network. That's another issue though. Are there any good websites that would search for ed2k files? I use one forum that posts direct links but it's just for house music. There is filedonkey that seems to be doing a search but doesn't show links - or I can't figure out how to find them. Anything else?

There are websites that search for ed2k files, but I believe that I'm not allowed to post them here (forum rules). You will have to search for them yourself.
