Hi everybody. I am new to aMule and also new to Ubuntu so my problem may not be related to amule but to linux... who knows...
I have installed Ubuntu 8.04 and aMule 2.2.0~svn20080218-0ubuntu4 from ubuntu's packages.
Everything seems to work fine, except Web remote control. I have enabled it on port 4711, and set a password but it does not work.
I am not sure if ubuntu comes with a firewall, but I don´t think so because this computer replies to ping.
aMule GUI works. Telnet to por 4712 works. But Web (port 4711) does not. :(
What am I doing wrong?

Did you check "accept external connections" in Preferences/Remote Controls and set a password ?

At the first time I thought it was not needed, but I have also tried that with no sucess.
port 4712 works, but 4711 does not :(
xxx@Caronte:~$ telnet localhost 4711
Trying 127.0.0.1...
telnet: Unable to connect to remote host: Connection refused
xxx@Caronte:~$ telnet localhost 4712
Trying 127.0.0.1...
Connected to localhost.

Ok problem solved.
It seems that amuleweb was not installed because I had not istalled amule-daemon, I just installed amule thinking that amuleweb was "included" with amule executable. I have installed amule-daemon and now it works.
Thank you both for your help! :)
