Hello,
I am receiving a lowid("yellow") on both KAD and ED2k although the port is forwarded correctly.
I know this because when i enter http://www.amule.org/testport.php and insert the port i configured in aMule it shows "Success" in green.
What could be the problem?

What ed2k server you use?
-
anything i can connect to from http://peerates.net/servers.php
mostly:
emule serverlist nr.1, saugstube.
now i notice something like 90% of connection attempts are unsuccessful and end with "timed out".
-
Please, use this server.met -> http://gruk.org/server.met.gz
Conect to eDonkeyServer No1 for example, works fine :D
-
Still lowid. connected to edonkeyserver no1

Did you solve your problem? I'm having exactly the same problems (testport page succeeds, but connections timeout until i finally get a low id)
I'm running archlinux (updated)
Thanks for the help

Do you use an ipfilter ? Try disabling it.
-
No. AFAIK no ipfilter or other kind of client firewall is active in my machine. Besides looking at active processes and desktop configuration, the fact that testport pages says the port is open and connection succeeds is what makes me think about some kind of amule/archlinux misconfigation...
-
I was talking about aMule's built-in ipfilter (preferences/security). It could block the adresses you want to connect to, but still keep the connection test enabled.
-
:) Thank you so much!!! I didn't know about that option and I believe that was the problem. I've disabled built-in ipfilter and now it gets a High-ID... but only sometimes! Right now I have a High-ID but some minutes before I got a Low -Id to the very same server. I think it must be some kind of server overload matter.
Kad still says "firewalled"... is that normal?
Thanks!!!!!

Kad still says "firewalled"... is that normal?
It starts firewalled but should quickly switch to "connected". If not, check if your "extended UDP port" (preferences/connection) is active and reachable (forwarded in your router).

Hi, i have exactly the same problem, since about one month, I tried everything, now I followed your instructions, I disabled the IP filter from Preferences-security, and still I can't connect to a server (the connections always failed as timed out) and I got a low id as i result firewalled in Kad...are you sure is not an Amule problem?? i'm running on mac os 10.3 panther, next week i'm switching on leopard, will it make any difference?
