The MacOSX version has been added to the Berlios download page thanks to gtoso (http://forum.amule.org/index.php?action=profile;u=11202), who has proved skillful and trusted when it comes to building packages, so he's now part of the team.
Download it from the main page, or click here (http://download.berlios.de/amule/aMule-2.2.2-GeoIP-OSX10.4+.dmg).

Indeed, I have been using gtoso (http://forum.amule.org/index.php?action=profile;u=11202)'s packages for a while now.
Excellent work! ;D
-
A great thanks for this release...
I take it with pleasure.
bye :)

Weee!
Donation works! ;D

Seems that amule 2.2.2 trigger a weird xorg memory leak, since after some hours of work (not many) xorg starts to leak lot of GB and afterwords amule is terminated... v2.2.1 isn't affected
Any way to understand what is going on?

Ciao Cimmo,
are you still using Ubuntu or is this on another operating system/distribution?
Could you please open a new thread in the forum and tell us more about your operating system, library versions and if you use self compiled packages or where you downloaded them? We'll then try some things to find our more about the problem.
As it's very hard to fix such bugs (they are probably not directly caused by aMule, but by an underlying library), your assistance is much appreciated.
Thank you!

Hello everybody
It seems like the download link is broken, do you have any alternative links/ways to upload again the file?
Thank you a lot!
-
This is certainly most unfortunate. Kry, can you upload this to sf, too?
A mirror: aMule-2.2.2-GeoIP-OSX10.4+-GToso.dmg (http://gtoso.tor.it/pub/amule/osx/2.2.2/aMule-2.2.2-GeoIP-OSX10.4+-GToso.dmg)
-
I am doing it right now.
Please PM me with your sf account, so that I can add you to the project.
-
Ok, thanks a lot!

I'm using kubuntu 8.04.1 and getdeb packages, libwxgtk installed now are 2.6.3.2.2 and 2.8.7.1 so I don't know which amule is using
I don't have much time, I will try to post a thread in the forum in the future.

I builded a new 2.2.2 package (http://gtoso.tor.it/pub/amule/osx/2.2.2/aMule-2.2.2-GeoIP-OSX10.4+-GToso_2.dmg) that allows to expand /Volumes and share external volumes,
changes:
new wxMac version 2.8.9
in wxMac I replaced mac/carbon/dirmac.cpp with unix/dir.cpp
new libpng version 1.2.32
new GeoIP.dat
Can you upload it to sourceforge?
Rename it as you prefer, I added a _2 to indicate that it was a new build.
-
Ok, I have just uploaded it. I have left the _2 in the name so that people know it is not the same file they have downloaded before.
-
Great!
It works great! Don't stop and doesn't crash the system.
Good job
-
Works like a charm. Thanx gtoso! :)

This wedges on me reliably, often at startup but always within a couple of hours.
2.1.3 at least could usually run for several days. 10.5.5, G5

My English is not so good,
at startup or after a couple of hours amule crashes? Or became slow?
On Tiger I runned monolitich aMule for several hours and daemon for at least 15 days without problems.
Have you tried to delete old preferences?
Have you old version of aMule in your HDs? If yes, try to delete they (chmod 000 is ok).
Can you try to launch aMule from Terminal and post output and log?
Applications -> Utilities -> Terminal:
$ /Applications/aMule.app/Contents/MacOS/amule
Try debug version from here:
http://forum.amule.org/index.php?topic=13920.0
and follow this:
http://www.amule.org/wiki/index.php/Backtraces
I suggest you to try the daemon.
EDIT:
If you have CPU-intensive applications like boinc or xgrid amule seems to hang,
really it works but very very slow.

hi ,
i have download a mule and I'm not succeed to install him.
its writting me that he need some passward and Im not understand which pas.
please help me fast.
-
Hello hila,
Where did you download aMule? Our Mac installation package (http://download.berlios.de/amule/aMule-2.2.2-GeoIP-OSX10.4+.dmg) is a dmg file, which requires NO password, please be cautious as you may have downloaded something dangerous.
Take a look at this tutorial for installing dmg-files: http://www.ofzenandcomputing.com/zanswers/779

i dont know...
i have download it from here and again from your link and it doesnt work...
-
OK, please explain us step-by-step what you did. Please be detailed. When you've done this, please tell us what you expected to happen, so that it doesn't work.
1. Step-by-step report of your actions.
2. What did you do which didn't work.
-
ok ,
first i think that i know what is the problem....i saw in your message before , the explanation how to download software for mac ( in this web - http://www.ofzenandcomputing.com/zanswers/779) ...
i have looked in the pictures and one part is missing , pic number 2.
i did every thing well but in the beginning he wants some passward from me. maybe tell me exactly how to download this software?
-
I never owned a Mac and don't know if there's any kind of authentication necessary before installing a package.
Anyway: Have you ever installed an application using a dmg-file? If no, could try to install for instance pingus (http://www.apple.com/downloads/macosx/games/cards_puzzle/pingus.html) and see if the same password prompt appears?
How to download: Usually clicking the link to the file is enough, but you might try to open the context menu (hold down control while you click on the click) and select "save as" instead.
-
i have tried to download this but its not opend....i think that i have a problem with dmg files...
what can i do?
-
I'm afraid I can't help you further, because I lack the knowledge and can't guess the causes of the problem by your descriptions.
Do you know anyone who is experienced with Mac OS X? Could you try to ask this person?
-
hi again
my mac version is 10.5.4
this version of amule is good for my computer?
if not , can you give me the good version of amule?
-
Hello Hila first of all, every application you install in mac os requires you to enter the pasword you had to use when you first run your computer. This means only you an nobody else is able to install sofware in your computer. If you are not the one that set up your Mac for the first time (i.e. you are using the mac of your brother sister or father) ask them for the system adm. pasword.
aMule 2.2.2 works fine with 10.4.11 and up from what i know...
PS. this also means that even the 4 worms (virus) running around for mac os need you to give them permision to get installed :P
-
can you bring me a diffrent version of amule?
-
Sorry i don't keep any previous versions of aMule but you shouldnt have any problems with the current version...
Did you understand that to install anything in a Mac Os system you need the administrator pasword of the machine? Even installing Office you need the pasword of your machine. Even the few viruses that exist in the plataform need permision :P
So still you have problems?
