I just compiled (download the source file) amule 2.0_Rc2 on a Gentoo system. Immediately after I run amule it crashed. From the console I get this message
Initialising aMule

OOPS! - Seems like aMule crashed

Sorry for reporting this problem again. I found another post where there is a solution to this problem

backup .eMule file and remove it .. then run amule again.. temp or incoming on a fat32 partition ?
-
Yes, and also I am sharing some folders which are in Fat32
-
try to run amule after removing the .eMule file plz
-
Xmm, it does not like that incoming/Temp are in a Fat32 harddisk.
That is a problem... I am going back to amule 2.0.0_rc1
Just to avoid confusion.
I erased .eMule and it opened fine. Then I change the directory for Incoming/Temp to be the ones that are on Fat32 and it crashed again.

nono, readed a smiliar prob here on forums today ..
wait a sec, rc2 is much better ;)
i'm looking for it

K-Teto's idea did the trick. Now I can start amule. But, I can not save my settings.
In the new .eMule file only the total down bytes and total up bytes are saved nothing else. As a result, everytime I start amule I need to configure it again

Well, I deleted the new .eMule file and I renamed the old one. I changed the line which talks about the Incoming/Temp directory according to K-Teto's idea and now I have my settings ......
