Title: Fast kademlia search
Post by: Fungo on April 04, 2009, 04:49:52 PM
I'd like to see Kademlia search fast as on emule. Don't know if this is a bug, something structural or by design but on emule search on kad is only a little longer then server search, on amule is many times slower.

BTW
Keep going with your job on amule, fantastic software :-)

read info on how KAD works and you will realise that this request is pretty pointless.

i just say that on emule kad search *are* a lot more fast. Whatever kad works, it works in the same way on both program so i can't see your point.

sorry, not pointless, misdirected,

KAD searches the same way as in eMule, which is based on the same code (2.2.4 is mirroring 49c mule, as in KAD behaver and ed2k structure)

in my sessions KAD is on par with search searches, if not better,

BTW what version are you using?

just upgraded to 2.2.3, same result.
Maybe it's a problem with my network config or with my system. I'm using ubuntu 8.10 64 bit. I'll do some more test (i want to try emule under wine).

Benchmark ? How fast ?
Measured at the same time of day (one after the other of course), both clients fully connected (high id) on the same machine, using the same ports and userhash, and searching for the same keyword.
