Title: [rGUI] Serverlist window usage (9***)
Post by: gav616 on June 30, 2009, 07:57:25 PM
sorry if this is yet to be fully  implemented, as this would be a feature request rather then a bug report.

- server priority can be set, but when restarting GUI the settings are lost.
- adding servers as 'static' can be achieved at GUI but only the first one added is used and saved to the 'staticservers.dat'
- even manually adding a second server to the 'staticservers.dat' (respecting syntax), it is just ignored (when in the connecting process)

I can confirm the first issue, but not the second (using SVN 9692):
1. (-) Server priorities are NOT saved/restored
2. (+) Static servers are correctly saved and restored

You should post a bug report @ http://bugs.amule.org

No. You should either discuss it on the forum or post a bug report. Both together will make chaos.
(Personally I prefer forum since it allows for better discussion.)

And I would not do much anymore about servers - that's a thing of the past. The future is Kad.

lol, i like your attitude... :)

tbh, i was still thinking of helping them poor peers that can't use kad (if any..) so connecting to a server helps them find me....

ha..

No. It won't make chaos. Every bug should be posted in the bug tracker, that's the use of it lately. They can always be linked, if that's desired.
Leaving a bug in the application just because you don't do much about servers is wrong.

It makes no sense opening an issue in two places. And I don't like the tracker. If you want a useful tracker it should work, and not be open to public to post. Just look at it - full of useless bug reports someone dumped there and nobody picks up. A discussion about a bug or a feature should be done on the forum, and after a decision has been reached it could be tracked (unless it's fixed right away). Just my 2 c.

And it's not a bug. It's just something that's not implemented yet in the rgui, which makes it a feature. And I won't spend time on it because I don't find it a useful feature (finding servers useless in general), and thus don't want to.

Not looking at "shit" will not make it disappear. :D
