Good morning,
I'm a new user of aMule and I'm trying to install it on a fresh Ubuntu 9.04 (minimal setup for VM).
The steps I followed:
- download the specific package from: http://forum.amule.org/index.php?topic=16647.0
- install the package with dpkg -i
- install aMule daemon with apt-get install amule-daemon
- change the running user editing /etc/default/amule-daemon
- start/stop daemon (for directories and config files creation)
- change amule.conf (enable remote admin, password...)
- (on the router) NAT port 4662 and 4672
- start daemon
- connect via remote GUI
- import server list
- connect ok (with high ID)
everything seems ok... but if I perform a search it ends with no results and if I add a link, it always has 0 sources and the progress bar is always red... changed server but no luck.
Where am I wrong?
Thanks!

Bad server list probably. Use KAD instead.

Thanks for your suggestion, I downloaded the server list from well-known sites and tried to refresh it several times...
I can't connect to KAD, no known clients and even if I download a nodes.dat KAD state is always "connecting"...

use peerates list only and do not download server lists from servers.

Thanks! Your suggestion worked, now I can use KAD! ;)
