Title: amulegui password

I compiled aMule 2.2.6 on centos5. After installing all the packages amule asks for, aMule is running when I type amule at the command prompt. The IPtables are set.

When I run "amuled" it starts and runs in the background. But now I cannot connect through the web or with amuleGUI from a windows computer. On windowsXP I get the following message:

Connection Failed. Unable to connect to server10:4712. External Connection: Access denied because: Authentication failed, invalid hash specified as EC password.I got the amuleGUI from http://amule.jimdo.com/.

When connecting with amuleGUI I see the following in the logfile:

The EC password (in the config file) is the md5 checksum of the password. You can get it with

$ echo -n amulepassword | md5sum - | cut -d' ' -f1

The same applies to all passwords in the config file.

Be careful, that you shouldn't point your web browser to amule(d)'s EC port (4712 by default), but to amuleweb's server port (4711 by default).
