Title: obfuscation
Post by: stoatwblr on April 26, 2010, 02:40:46 PM
It looks like obfuscation settings may be being ignored.

I've got "only accept obfuscated connections" enabled, yet there are hosts in the GUI  client pane whose details show as "Obfuscation not supported"

(To add more confusion, they're also showing IP of 0.0.0.0:0, LowID and no file being requested, yet there's data being uploaded to them - see the attached screenshot)

As a GUI enhancement request - can we have client IP/port and Obfuscation Y/N as selectable items in the Client pane?

I think its a "problem" with amuled/amuleGUI.
Status information will not be updated every sekond.
restart the GUI and look again.

Looks rather like broken client info to me.  :(
If you quickly close & reopen the remotegui, does the clients'  information change?

No the information doesn't change.

For some reason it looks like IPFilters were set on in remote.conf but not in amule.comf - after shutdown/edit/restart the 0.0.0.0 entries went away but I've still got clients connecting whose details say "obfuscation not supported"

Some clients are showing as obfuscation enabled, so it's not a blanket thing.

Stu, any ideas on this one?

No. Let's look at this again in the new gui (after clients are back).

Is this a gui issue or an amuled issue?

As far as I can see the gui's reporting the connecting client capabilities accurately (some are obfuscated, some are not), but it looks like the daemon isn't taking the "accept only obfuscated" option.

Maybe these are LowID clients? I'm not sure if the "accept only obfuscated" option has any meaning for these.

Perhaps. Wierdly with 10155 the list of clients has disappeared altogether (might have gone previously, I only just realised)

Yeah. No clients in amulegui atm. First we have to shake out the quirks in the gui, the fix EC.
