Title: "Invalid protocol version" on remote connection
Post by: jbc on July 22, 2011, 11:24:18 PM
Hi,

I had Amule running perfectly on a Asus rt-n16 router. I log on it via Amule remote GUI for windows, version 2.2.6 (latest).

Tonight, I've updated my Optware packages on the router. From this moment, I've been unable to connect on it via remote GUI, the error shown is "invalid protocol version (0x0200 !=0x0203)"

Any idea, please ?

I saw that from April there was a RC of Amule. Has it been compiled in Optware packages ? If yes, which client will I have to use to log on it ?

Thanks
JB

0x0200 is 2.2.6, 0x0203 is going to be 2.3.1 .
Since 2.3.1 is not released yet, you have an SVN version of amuled on your router. You need a fitting version of amulegui to connect to it. The protocol version alone is not enough to tell, since during development there are protocol changes without increase of the actual protocol version.

So you have to find out which SVN version of amuled is running on your router. It should be visible from the logfile. Or you can ask the guy who provided the package.  :)

Since there is a released RC, it might very well be that.
