It'd be nice to be able to define the location of logfiles and known*.met in amule.conf
This would allow optimisation of placement into/off of SSD/ramdisk (or /var/log)
-
You already can move the complete homedir to a location where you have write access to. This includes logfile and everything else in your ~/.amule
-
Yes you can, but you can't separate stuff which benefits from (or is harmful to) SSDs
In particular: logfiles are really bad for SSDs - writing one line at a time when the device has to erase in 128kb blocks for any write can result in premature device failure.
-
Symlinks?

Don't work. They get trashed every time the program is restarted.

That's not how a SSD works.
Anyway, if you are afraid of using it, why buy it in the first place? Your SSD will probably obsolete long before it gets broken.

Exactly my opinion!
