Title: Can not get more than 26 servers, why ?

Hi all.

I was getting 154 to start with and then went to 88 or so. Now can only locate 26 at best. Hi id and Kad OK.

Any suggestions, is this happening to everyone or just me ?

Servers are dying out. Kad is the future.

Ok, so I have both ed2k and kad on. So, how do I use kad.

At the moment I have the search items bar which has those 4 headings , Local ,Kad,Global and hash. I have it set to kad as it hits all the servers and shows upp more results.

What I don`t get is everything is ed2k based. I have near 1000 nodes . If I disable ed2k in ppref and just have kad what happens to those servers , now 26.

How will I download.

Trying to make some sense, hope you can understand my pov.

Most people have Kad on too I think so you should find your sources on Kad as well. The others you can always get through source exchange.
So I'm not exactly understanding your problem.

Ok, so I have 25 ed2k servers only. I see 1000 nodes in kad so are these servers or just info on what your downloading now.

If I lose more ed2k servers how will kad function.

Nop, this is not going to work ,i can not explain it. All I can say is if i disable ed2k ,what next ? How can I download ?

Let's say Kad and ed2k-servers are 2 different things. You NEVER download from servers in aMule.
ed2k uses the servers so find sources. Every ed2k client (or nearly every) tells the server he's connected to which files he has shared. Other ask the server who has specific files.

KAD is much better as it doesn't need servers at all. It's decentralized, which means that it gets the contact from other clients.
It's much more secure and nobody can kill the net by shutting down a server ;)

Just enable it in options (it should be enabled yet) and then use it in search, by selecting KAD from drop down menu ;)

How do I know it`s working. I can see 1000 nodes. Clueless !!!!!

How will these let me download ,I can not see anything that says , ok, your in kad so now look for the file you want and voila . Dreamers...........

You know it yet by seeing these 1000 nodes! Your KAD is working ;)

Too bad for you. You said in your first post that Kad is OK. That's exactly what's telling you that you're now connected to Kad and go search for your files and download them.
