Hi all,
I'm using amule and I enjoy it a lot. But the way I use it, there's a small problem that's nagging me.
Often, I'm downloading files that only few people are sharing completely; now, when I have downloaded the parts that everybody else has already, amule is waiting for the next part to arrive from the sources that have it completely. What I'd like to know then is when I can expect the next part to arrive; that is, the smallest queue rating of all the file's sources. Currently, I have to expand the files' sources, and look through all the bogus sources and search the lowest queue rating myself.
Instead, I'd like to see that when I glance at the (collapsed) overview of the Downloads. So, how about making the "Status" field of a file tell the lowest queue rating for the file instead of just "Waiting"?
Thanks,
antifuchs.

That would be sweet.

I might be wrong, but IIRC the value given as QR is the rate you have on that client, not the possition you are in it's queue. So, if this is true, then there's now way to know what you're asking for. What's more, if it's like this, you should be looking for the biggest number, not the smallest.
If I'm wrong, please make me know ;-)
Greetings!

Hm, I was confusing terminology there. I meant the Queue Rank, not the Rating of the client. AFAICT, QR is the number of the place a request has in the other client's queue; the client rating is some kind of score modifier (and score of that request is what determines the place in the other's queue).
Of course, I could be wrong; but then, I never found any definite documents on amule's (or any other mule's) numbers (-:

That is correct.

As for your request, although its possible to show the lowest QR, it doesnt mean much, since it may even go up, if other clients in that source get better scores and get past you(getting a file with higher priority, or more credits). Also, you may get it first from a source with higher QR (progressed better, or info was more out of date).

Ah, yeah, k. Thanks Seagull for the references :-)))
