I have bee using aMule 2.0rc3 for many months now (cloest opion in the
pulldown next to the subject was rc5..) without any problem.
Suddenly, without any change in network setup, I cannot connect to servers.
Some don't connect at all, and some disconnect immediately after the connection.
I cannot see any printout in the log hinting to the reason.
Can it be that my IP (static) got blacklisted somehow? Is there such
IP blacklist for emule servers going around?
Is there a way I can get more information on why those servers that I
do connect to - immediately drop the connection?

I have the same error with the 2.0.0rc5 in linux. the url that has been working last months fails now.
Somebody could help us to know what has been produced this error?
Thx

There are some servers (Razorback for example) that ban clients that are too old and dont support some features. I dont know for sure if this is the reason here, but for both of you I recommend upgrading to at least rc8 and see if it happens again... ;)

Folks,
thedude0001 is right, lugdunum warns about problems in the clients before he sets the bans, so that we can fix it. There were bugs in previous versions about zlib advertising, for exampe, so if a client advertises zlib capability and does not use it, it will be banned in recent versions of the server.
The botton line is: use a recent version. CVS tarball is the best option:

Thanks for the tip, downloaded rc8, compiled cleanly, and now it connects
to servers without problem.
