hi all,
first of all i want to thank the developers for amule. :)
i am using it over one year and i find it extremely usefull...
(i for myself think its the best around :D )
here is my problem:
i want to limit active connections: when my active conn. go up my download and upload goes down and vica versa.
i can lower active connections by :
* setting the max new connections in 5sec value low (about 10)
* limiting the connections per file to a low number (about 100)
* making the upload quene shorter (500-700)
* downloading less files at a time (about 10)
but when i apply all of the above settings the connections realy decrease while my download speed stays low (i do not have enough sources to download continuosly).
is it possible to limit the active connections, and if there is a way, how?
thanks in advance

preferences - connection and then in the lower right connection limit - maximum connections
Is it that what you are looking for or am I missing something?

thanks for your reply but that's not my problem
if i have 10 connections with 100 sources i have only 1000 connections and i do not have to limit the max connections option, it is already limited.
my problem is not the cumulative connection count, it is the active connections that occur at a special moment, which i can track from the statistics screen.
when i limit everything as mentioned in the first post the active connections are low but also my download is low too. i get a nearly horizontal graph for both download speed and active connections.
if i use more sources per file or add more downloads, the download speed graph and the active connections graph draw both huge waveforms where the maxs of down are the mins of conn.
thanks in advance

Hmm, this is the setting that limits the active connections at every moment...
