i have more and more downloaded files that i don't share, for example because they are incomplete when fully downloaded. i would like aMule to remember them, so i do not download them again later, and so i can easily move files on/offline. this would also help move files with missing chunks offline when there is not much hope that complete sources will appear soon.
kind regards philippe

A function like that would be used by leechers so it is very bad.
What aMule can do like eMule is to remember download files in known.met. This files which are download but not shared are shown with an other color in search tab if they are found again.

This has nothing to do with leeching, however it would probably require a secondary list of file-hashes (only the master hash would be needed), to avoid saving too much crap. It's definitely doable.

which it actually does :P

Yes, however it only remembers completed files, in this case the user wants to mark files as "already acquired", even if they haven't been downloaded through aMule itself.

Ok, maybe I have missunderstood one point. I thought he wants an function to set shared and downloaded files to private too so no other one can download them.
@Cry ;)
It only works if the file was completed. Files with missing chunks can't get completed so the hash wouldn't stored in known.met if I cancel them. The same problem appears if I realize that a download is a fake file.

In the spirit of my previous kludgy workaround:
- Copy the file's ED2K link
- Disable the file as per this thread (http://forum.amule.org/thread.php?threadid=6017)
- Set the "Add files to download in pause mode" preference setting, if not already set
- Paste the ED2K link into aMule's ED2K Link Handler
- Edit the file name in the link to reflect that the file is incomplete or a fake; maybe include a datestamp
- Press "Commit" to add the file to your downloads
- If you like, assign the file to a special category
Now you have a reminder not to download the file because it will appear red in search results. Just never resume it and you should be fine.
