Title: Question: --enable-static option make a faster amule?
Post by: PunkSC on May 18, 2005, 11:31:44 PM
I know, sounds a silly question, but i read somewhere (dont remember where) that if i compile using "--enable-static" i will have a faster amule, but the amule file will be huge. I dont care about disk space, but i can use a faster amule.
So, my question is:
- amule will really be faster with this option?

tks a lot!

for sure the dl/ul speed will be the same. But i run amule on a PII 300 Mhz computer. If amule can use less cpu, it will be awesome!
But, it will just have a faster startup, or it will use less resources while amule is running?
Btw: any idea of the size of amule with this option? (near 10 MB, 50 MB, 100 MB, 1 GB?)

I think it was arount 150mb,
but also resources usage will be the same, the only difference will be that because wxGTK/wxBase will be included it will start more quickly, the rest will stay the same...
