As some of you might have noticed, 2.0.2 is out (The " [Your Ad Here] " version). Some clever guys even spotted it on wiki before we actually did the proper release :)
Anyway!. This is neither a hotfix release nor a big one, just fixes some bugs (some important ones anyway) and implements some stuff. It's recomended to upgrade anyway, specially for stability issues.
What does this release NOT include:
- New daemon socket code (is only avaiable on CVS right now and planned for 2.0.3)
- UBT (on CVS right now also, will be on 2.1.0)
- Lot of misc stuff that it's on CVS but on testing stage.
This is not a release to be in the bleeding edge - that's what CVS is for. This is a stable and friendly release ;)
For the changelog, as usual, click here (http://www.amule.org/wiki/index.php/Changelog_2.0.2).
For downloads, this (http://www.amule.org/files/files.php?cat=20) is the place. Tarballs and some rpms are up, along with Mac binary, other packages will follow soon, included the Win32 binary.
We also want to welcome a new team member: volpol (http://forum.amule.org/profile.php?userid=2722). He came, he patched, he joined. Welcome to the team.
Enjoy your aMule experience :)

Welcome volpol! New blood on the dev team! Thats nice! :)
Any idea when the windows amulegui will be working?
Keep the good job!
-
Congratulations to new release! :)
P.S. Why not to release aMule additionally on ed2k network? - I think many people me included would prefer to download it using aMule. And it will lower the load on web servers.
-
hi,
and congrats, too.
of course, it seems to work fine here again. - as usual. :)
btw:
the releaseinfo is spreaded on several forums. ;)

u cannot control the bytes...
so, when, e.g. something about seven phantastillions of the aMule-2.0.2.tar.gz are directly downloaded from the eD2k-net, but only 34 files from sourceforge and berlios together, the statistical download from the official sources will show only 34 files, although the file has been really downloaded for seven phantastillions-and-34-times...
be sure to get the official releases...

Well, we should be fair about Jacobo. I think you were thinking about deltaHF and "lovpol" when you made that post ;)

And as usual, the FreeBSD port follows quickly, and works like a charm.
I'm using it on FreeBSD/amd64.
Thanks!

I was in #amule and saw someone looking for Debian Sarge package.
so I made the aMule 2.0.2 package for Debian Sarge.
(Debian Sarge is Stable now)
It must works with Debian SID (Unstable), too.
Get it from : http://www.linux-dubai.com/modules/mydownloads/singlefile.php?cid=1&lid=1
and install it with :
dpkg -i amule_2.0.2-1_i386.deb
and this for uninstall : apt-get remove amule (I don't recommend this one :D )
(The best Idea is insert this package in amule.org or at least it's link)

I saw an rpm for FC3, has anyone bothered to make one for FC2. Just asking before I dive in.
