Hi, I'm from Portugal. Here Broadband users have limited dowloads (In my case i con only download internacional 3Gbs/moth). BUT between 4am and 7am we can download whatever we want and it doesn't get chaged to our internet trafic acount.
So... What i'm asking is this:
Built it a command in aMule that enables the user to turn on/off the ipfilter from the console/command line.
The would solve the problem for all the users here. :))
Thnx for you atention

nice sig! :P
-
it's in our todo list .. dunno how long, but seems we have to take a look at it :] :))
-
We need the new preferences for that.
-
I'm waiting for that feature too hehe

that makes it three of us :)

one more here!!

nice things to have:
- support for p2p guardian format http://www.peerguardian.net/pgipdb/guarding.p2p
- autodownload/update for p2p guardian and ipfilter.dat
- scheduler for IP blocking / bandwidth limiting
- blocking/bandwidth limiting "per country" (there is a perl library that does this...).
(so i could allow mode bandwidth to clients from "my country")

you can convert peerguardian data http://www.peerguardian.net/pgipdb/guarding.p2p
here (http://www.bluetack.co.uk/convert.html) :D :D

IPfilter reload button and on/off checkbox added.
Will be available as soon as we fix the CVs issues.

I've been wondering about other thing that it was requested, donno if you (Kry) or any other developer had time to look into it.
It's a timer ipfilter on/off. I'll try to explain exactly what I'm talking about.
It doesn't need nothing too sofisticaded, a simple menu on the preferences:
Check box with - timed ipfilter On/Off
2 boxes:
time 1 ->Time to disable ipfilter on all files
time 2 ->Time to turn ipfilter back on, on all files
Do ya think you could work this out?
cheers,

I see it dangerous. What if a bug activated ipfilter when you don't want it to be activated and you don't notice?
-
I see your point on it. But I think it will be more dangerous if you want it activated and it stay off, in Portugal we pay 3.8 for each 100M over our limit/month. The ipfilter messes with toomany things that this feature can't be included.
( My ISP has a limit of 1GB internacional traffic/month, but they have a promo that they call happy hour, they don't count any traffic from 4am-7am)
Currently what I do is:
I've 2 dirs, with dif setups, one without ipfilter and other that only allows Portuguese IP's.
At 4:05 am I kill my amule, and copy all ~/.aMule files to "nac" dir, and copy my other configuration that allows worldwide IP's from dir "int" to ~/.aMule.
At 6:55 am I kill my amule and, copy back my ipfilter and all files from "nac" dir back to ~/.aMule and start it.
This problably ain't the best way, it was just the way that I've founf to bypass the problem, yet there is a emule clone for windows that has a ipfilter on/off for each file, and a timer for ipfilter if you wish to disable it for a certain time, but then again I don't use windows.

First off THANX so very much for the on&off feature!!!
YOU GUYS RULE!
regarding To's sugestion, if the timer is to "dangerous" to implement, how about a "No Ipfilter" Tab. I'll explain, instead of having just one default tab, you have 2.
The "default" (like it is in the actual version) and the "No Ipfilter" (that ignores the ipfilter rules just for the files in it).
Don't know if I have made myself clear enought...... its just a thought.
[ ]s keep up the GREAT work!!
-
Did you test the on/off? because I don't want it to be bugged and you all tell me it's our fault your incredibly high net bill ;)
-
Shit I didn't I think about it befour. My my high net bill is your fault :))
when I've requested this in the first time I did it cause there is a windows client that does exactly this. But I only linux and amule, so I just waste my time bugging ya to add this features. Course has an interested fellow on this I test the new features.8)

I made a patch mainly in the amulecmd to allow reload of ipfilter and conection to a specified server in the console without interactivity (password was put in command line parameters also).
This allows to run a script in a cron job to reload ipfilter and change the server at certain hour without need to kill amule.
I use this to change at 4h05am to international traffic and to an international server, and at 6h55am change to national.
But :( I have a problem that some times amule freezes and I think that it is whem I change back to national.
Now I first change the ipfilter and then the server. And that could be the problem. The new ipfilter blocks acess to server (I will change the order of commands to check this).
Another probable cause is that when changing to the national ipfilter amule is downloading from someone that is now filtered and somehow causes the freeze. When the freeze happens I need to kill amule and, when restarting I have a warning that a file might be corrupted.
Another point is that, in my opinion, I don't see necessity of block the servers with ipfilter.

Hi!
I'm in Portugal too and I am also afected by the dreaded net bills but for small files it would be nice to make them "invisible" for the ipfilter...
Would it be possible to create an option so that the user could select which files are afected by the Ipfilter?
