You created the the debug info, but it seems you didn't install them. And regarding the version, maybe you should use the github repo so referencing the commit would be easier.

Ok, i use this:
svn co https://github.com/amule-project/amule/trunk amule
and
Schutti@hell-GA-A75M-D2H ~ $ which gdb
/usr/bin/gdb
Schutti@hell-GA-A75M-D2H ~ $

Ok, i run the make process with the GIT download.
How can I get a "Version" or nightly or build number in the GIT system?

Didn't know that gh works with svn. That depends if you have an gh-account or not. In general you run git clone <url>. You can choose from different methods, just visit https://github.com/amule-project/amule and click on the green "Code" button, then you can choose your preffered method. After entering the created dir you can do "git log -n 1" to get the hash of the latest commit.

Or did you mean how to get a specific version? In this case you just checkout the corresponding tag. git checkout 2.2.3 will get you on that version.

Now this build crashed too.

I used
git clone https://github.com/amule-project/amule.git
to get the source.

As I guess the trunk in svn is the same commit as master in git, it's no surprise that it behaves the same, but again you missed the debug symbols for amule. You've said that you've build the debs, so first I'm happy to see cmake is working somewhere else than just on my side. I guess you've installed just amule and it's deps, there should be an amule...dbgsym (don't recall exactly but something like that). If you install that one, the ?? should disappear and we (hopefully) see what happens.

I cannot find a dbgsym with amule in name or something.

EDIT: In the debian goodies there is a programm "find-dbgsym-packages"
Ist that the right package?

I don't know what you're doing, but "dpkg-buildpackage -us -uc -b -rfakeroot" produces amule-dbgsym_2.3.3-1+git-20210424_amd64.deb which should just contain everything needed. You also could just build by hand and do make install DESTDIR=/home/XX/amule-test and run the executable from there, so the symbols don't get stripped and placed somewhere else.

Yes, i dont know what to do.
I never heard of the dbgsym.
Is there a flag for the make prozess or what?

How do you build the debs? If with a line like my one with dpkg-buildpackage the dbgsyms are always created.

I build the .deb:

Code: [Select]

Git clone https://github.com/amule-project/amule.git
or
svn co https://github.com/amule-project/amule/trunk amule
./autogen.sh
./configure --with-boost --disable-debug --enable-optimize --disable-ccache  --disable-upnp --enable-alc --enable-alcc --disable-xas --enable-amulecmd --enable-webserver --enable-amule-daemon --enable-amule-gui --enable-fileview (or with debug on now)
sudo checkinstall --install=no

PS: I found out that the Mint/Ubuntu system have a flag in the synaptic "Feherlsuchsymbole" that activates a additional repo.
But i dont know if the dbgsym must be exactly for the file or not.
I mheard never befor of dbgsym.

k, checkinstall just puts everything into one package and it seems they get stripped. You can either replace ./autogen.sh and all that follows with the dpkg-buildpackage line, or use "make install DESTDIR=/home/<user>/<some-dir> to install everything into that dir and run it from there. The Fehlersuchsymbole is a bad translation for dbgsym, but if you install a package from there, it will depends on their version and is useless for you.

replacing the /configure line too?

At the moment i use the line:
./configure --with-boost --enable-debug --disable-optimize --disable-ccache  --disable-upnp --enable-alc --enable-alcc --disable-xas --enable-amulecmd --enable-webserver --enable-amule-daemon --enable-amule-gui --enable-fileview

dpkg-checkbuilddeps: Fehler: Nicht erfüllte Bauabhängigkeiten: libreadline-dev libupnp-dev (>> 1.6.6) libasio-dev cmake

Should be clear, this is a list of the missing packages.

Nice detail:
This process uses all of my cores, the makeinstall only used 1 core.

Ok, now the news build worls, no crash.
No ASIO?

The amuled/amuleGUI Combi works.
The old problem that the normal amule need more and more RAM and bloat until i must stop ist ist still there.

You could check that if you remove libasio-dev from Build-Depends in debian/rules and remove the package you've installed before you recreate and install the packages.

Ok, and what to change for a build without the debug informations?
How to set the build process to non debug?

Change line 36 in debian/rules from =Debug to =Release.

Change line 36 in debian/rules from =Debug to =Release.

Are you sure that is sufficient?
I got a debug message in the shell with the amuled.

I set the debug on "no" and now its better.

I was sure as configuring  without debug should result in no debug, but maybe the debug var is changing this later. I wrote the base for this bak in 2004, so my memory is not that reliable in that case.

But I'm experimenting with letting cmake manage this stuff for upnp atm, if this works I can update this stuff here, too.

I have a problem/bug with this GIT download.

Since I moved from
svn co https://github.com/amule-project/amule/trunk amule
to
git clone https://github.com/amule-project/amule.git
a very old (i remember this issue) problem are still there.

After a lot of hours running the upload become very low (ca. 5-10 MBit/s) and the KAD become yellow instead of green.
How log it takes to act like this is different, yesterday this dont happend, today it does.
How to find such a bug?

This is a real old problem, and I guess if noone want to capture all traffic until this happens and does some real deep analysis, this maybe will stay for even longer. But if I get you right, this not happened with the old method. I'm pretty sure, as the repo should point to the same code, this shouldn't make a difference, but maybe you could run a short diff to verify this. Are there any other things different?

Do you compile both with you're checkintall workflow? You've installed the other variant of the asio code, as it's easier to iinclude that one with cmake, so maybe this makes the difference or in general the socket could be the factor that influences this.
