Title: kad without the extended port
Post by: KyroMaster on November 09, 2005, 01:27:07 AM
I already raised this question but unfortunately I got no response :(
Will kad run with the extended UDP port disabled?
I heard it won´t but that´s really unlogical since there´s "kad support for lowid clients" while lowid clients are supposed to disable the extended upd port by the manual.
Thanks in advance for an explanation *g

Why don't you just try it. Disable the port and see if Kad still works... ;)

I disabled it and kad didn´t work any more.
But I don´t understand this (see above). Does this mean that I szhouldn´t disable the extended UDP port even if I´m behind a firewall (and I can´t forward the ports)?

Yes, you shouldn't.

Does this apply to eMule as well. If yes I´ll post a thread that the readme should be updated.

So then the readme is wrong, could it be updated?
