Title: mouse wheel on graphs changes the update interval
Post by: spiorf on December 15, 2005, 12:44:43 AM
I've seen in recent snapshot that when changing the update interval the graph is redrawn, so should not be too difficult to implement this.

I vote against. "Hidden" features like this are best avoided.

Easy to missfire.

an option in preferences, just under the interval slider, can make this feature less "hidden"?
this would be useful  when leaving amule running for some time and you want to ckeck if it has worked correctly.

BTW, a little question: is the active nodes count patch going to be merged?

Probably not before 2.1.0, as it's frozen now.

This is even worst. When GUI behavior depends on option, it became less predicatable. And generally speaking, I find this feature obscure and, as Kry say, easy to misfire. Mind you, that I can't remember program that changing zoom whith mouse weel.

...and in Photoshop it's Alt-Mousewheel.

I don't see an issue in implementing SomeModifierKey-Mousewheel for changing the time interval of the graphs. However, I think this feature request points out a deficiency in how we currently handle the interval of the stats graph. It would be much more handy if you could simply change the behavior of the stats graphs from the stats page itself. So maybe we should think about including the slider or two buttons for controlling the graphs there.

IMHO a checkbox with "zoom graps with mouse wheel" is not so obscure.

The only problem in the stat page is that when i return home and i want to see how amule worked along all day  i have to set a high interval, instead when i'm in front of the pc i want to see how amule is working now and i set a lower limit. Being able to modify with mouse wheel the interval should be enough.
