I was just downloading some stuff, minding my own business when I noticed this:

What the hell is "kMule"?

iirc, kmule was a former project from bLuTm8, who once intended to build a kind of KDE-Mule, but this was about two years ago or so, in the times of  aMule-2.0.0rcsomewhat or so. so a clientversion v2.0.3 seems quite strange to me.

Maybe the project was resumed?

I've gotta say I'm intrigued. I always wanted to see aMule integrated with KDE (features like "Open Incoming Folder" etc.). Maybe kMule is a KDE project based on aMule? It would be nice to see an ed2k-client being an integral part of the K Desktop Environment :)

Any other theories on the mysterious kMule client?

I don't think Blutm8 did continue his project, he's very rare in time atm...or maybe it's 'cause he codes all the time ;)
Seriously: He's problably not the one who coded this. A short google-search didn't offer any project pages, try messaging the guy who uses it ;)

Yeah, Google search was the first thing I tried :)

And you're right, I should talk to the kMule guy but he hasn't been online for a while :)

alright I managed to send a message to our mysterious friend (the one using kMule)

We'll just have to wait and see what happens now :)

Just one remark: Kmule was intended to be Kylix-mule, sort of Delphi-based. Nothing about KDE.

About the strange Guy: It seems likely to me, that this is nothing else but a bad mod for emule, he doesn't even have secure identification...

What Version of aMule are you using BTW?

aMule CVS 2005 12 26 :)

and it's not a mod... The kMule is pretty much real...

Wonder if it'll look good :)
