thnx a lot :))
-
just wanted to add that it's compiled against wxGTK, not wxWidgets/wxBase, so you either have to have a complete GTK+ installed or you will have to build it yourself if you've got a headless setup without GTK+ (like i do :().
btw, where have the precompiled wxBase binaries mentioned in the Wiki gone?
-
precompiled wxBase ? never seen any sorry, and if they were 2.4.2 they do not work anyways..
-
dosn´t work for me...

The wxWidgets rpm is bugged. It needs to have the patch found here applied if it is to work in different locales: http://bugs.gentoo.org/show_bug.cgi?id=109483
That'll fix the crash in the post above this one.
-
Hmm, i guess this is far out of my Linux skills. :(
I choose FC because of the rpm´s.
Everything i click on the gentoo page, just show me txt files, where do i have to insert this under Fedora?
-
Use the default language and everything will work fine. aMule will only crash with changed language settings, open ~/.aMule/amule.conf and set the line to Language=, this should be an workaround.
-
nope, dosen´t work.....by the way , i´m using german language as default in Fc.
-
OK, could you please try Language=en_US?
-
YEAHHHHH^^
Thank you very much^^
-
@wuischke: its teh default language which makes it crash,
ONLY english works...
-
after installing both rpm's (without any errors) i get
"amule: error while loading shared libraries: libwx_gtk_xrc-2.6.so.0: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory"
when i try to start amule210 :(
any hints ?
-
can you post
rpm -qa | grep wx
-
wxGTK-common-2.4.2-12
wxGTK2-2.4.2-12
wxGTK-2.6.2-
hhmm .. 2.4.2 ^^
where can i get new versions of these pkg's ?
-
rpm -e ALL of them
and then reinstall the wxGTK and aMule pkg mentioned in the 1st post
-
done, but get the same error :(
-
can you do a
find / -name "libwx_gtk_xrc-2.6.so.0"
and post the result?
-
nothing found ;(
-
hmm ok
the rpm was build with gtk2 and unicode, so the file is called
libwx_gtk2u_xrc-2.6.so
so the question for me remains, sure you have the right amule-rpm? if yes, then I wonder why noone else complained before
to bad I dont have fedora to test
-
ich hab jetzt echt an mir selbst gezweifelt ^^
eben wars noch deutsch, beim antworten plötzlich english ?! 8o

the german / english was my mistake :] I forgot to translate what I was thinking ;)
ok so looks to me the rpm is wrong, I am currently installing a fedora, if all goes well I check it, and either post a new rpm, or tell you where the problem is ;)
-
ok, thx ;)
-
ok it works...
I downloaded only those 2 rpms from the 1st post, installed tehm on my fresh fc4 and that was it
ran amule form the console and it fired up...
-
I installed both of the above packages.
All works fine but after i changed the language to german and restarted amule the language of the gui is still english. In the amule.conf-File it appears correct like "Language=de_DE" but theres no German gui.
Any suggestions???
-
looks like the pkg was build without nls support.
