Title: aMule adsl connection crash mandrake 9.1
Post by: pitux on February 25, 2004, 12:38:23 PM
Hi, I've spent the last weekend trying to understand why aMule crashes my adsl connection. So here it goes:

config: K-6 200MHz, VXPro+ motherboard, 64M EDOSIMM, 2 HDD, Sagem Fast 800 E2 adsl modem (with unofficial eagle 1.0.4 driver ppp0),  video and lan card.

system: mandrake 9.1 updated via MandrakeUpdate, nat gateway, kde 3.x, aMule 1.2.6 (rpm package), ssh-server, vncserver...and i think that's all!

problem: the internet connection (adsl Club-Internet) is working fine as long as i don't launch aMule. When i launch aMule connection is still on (i can start downloading stuff), but when i begin uploading  to other users the connection freezes. The modem is still operational (showstat command) but i cannot restart the net connection (if i launch stopadsl and then startadsl, modem gets stuck at booting). The only way to relaunch the internet connection is to reboot. I'm new to linux so i can't troubleshoot the system yet!

Anyone have the same problems or have an ideea about how to make it work? Any suggestion would be  really welcome! thx

it's the same bugs than mine, with modem comtrend 350 (same chipset than yours), i'm using the 1.0.4.10 driver under RH9. But i can reload my connection.

pitux> did you lauch adsl.inittab? (don't resolve the bug but i don't understand why your connection doesn't restart)

The aMule setting were the default ones. I didn't go through the wizzard stuff.

Oh...I forgot, the connexion freezes exactly when the first upload is finished

max'mulien> adsl.inittab ne fait rien. Je sais qu'il  a une solution a ce bloquage du modem entre booting et initializing mais je n'ai pas encore trouve.

P.S. : reducing upload speed doesn't change much.
