?(

the last post I see here is from 11.12.2005, so if thats teh last its really strange and outof date
Title: Re: Hungarian Translation
Post by: biger [HUN] on May 30, 2006, 08:17:34 PM
I compared the last (11.12.2005) .po file to the CVS and it seems to me, they are different. Not only the dates, also the content.

in CVS .po file:

"POT-Creation-Date: 2005-11-23 21:35+0100\n"
"PO-Revision-Date: 2005-11-13 16:28+0100\n"

in the 11.12.2005 .po file:

"POT-Creation-Date: 2005-05-01 16:47+0200\n"
"PO-Revision-Date: 2005-12-11 14:03+0100\n"

I think, i wrote incorrect the POT-Creation-Date in the last .po file.

The correct version:
"POT-Creation-Date: 2005-11-23 21:35+0100\n"
"PO-Revision-Date: 2005-12-11 14:03+0100\n"
Title: Re: Hungarian Translation

Kry played around a little with those files...but still your file is so old that its not up2date anyways
Title: Re: Hungarian Translation
Post by: biger [HUN] on May 31, 2006, 12:27:56 PM
Thanks for your trouble!

I just seeing, that the newest source string .po file is from 2006-03-09.
But, the Theard title is newest source_strings.po [23-Nov- 2005].
I wonderd, that here is the new realese, but isn't new source string.
Ok, i understand now.
Anyway I started before to translate on the basis of CVS .pot file.

Title: Re: Hungarian Translation
Post by: stefanero on May 31, 2006, 02:16:22 PM
must have missed that when I changed the source_po file
Title: Re: Hungarian Translation
Post by: ^marcell^ on May 21, 2009, 05:25:25 PM
I continued the translation: fixed fuzzy entires and translated all the missing things.

But on compiling the message catalog to a binary file (using msgfmt) I get 4 error messages that I am unable to resolve.

So I need some help with the output of msgfmt
I followed the instructions from here: http://www.amule.org/wiki/index.php/Translations
But I can't seem to find the wrong entries in the hu.po file.
Quote
hu.po:4756: number of format specifications in 'msgid' and 'msgstr' does not match

So i used the python script posted in the wiki to get the message id, which said: 1040
But that message is: "Insufficient disk space". as you can see there ain't no format specification in it and in the Hungarian translation is none either :(

I attached the compressed hu.po file, so maybe someone can figure out and tell me what's wrong. ;)
Title: Re: Hungarian Translation

I tried the .po file you posted, and (without any modifications):
Code: [Select]
topi:/tmp$ msgfmt --statistics -o /dev/null hu.po
1603 translated messages.
No errors, no warnings, just a big success.

What gettext version are you using?
Code: [Select]
topi:/tmp$ msgfmt --version
msgfmt (GNU gettext-tools) 0.14.5

I committed your translation.
Title: Re: Hungarian Translation
Post by: GonoszTopi on May 22, 2009, 06:32:00 AM
Code: [Select]
topi:~/tmp$ msgfmt -o /dev/null --statistics hu.po
1603 translated messages.
topi:~/tmp$ msgfmt -c -o /dev/null --statistics hu.po
hu.po:40: format specifications in 'msgid' and 'msgstr' for argument 1 are not the same
msgfmt: found 1 fatal error
topi:~/tmp$

The makefile uses -c, which truly revealed an error. Fixed.
Title: Re: Hungarian Translation
Post by: ^marcell^ on May 22, 2009, 10:31:14 AM
Here is the output of the gettext tool:
Code: [Select]
marcell@marcell-desktop:~$ msgfmt --version
msgfmt (GNU gettext-tools) 0.17

Thanks for fixing the error! :)

I now realise that I could open the hu.po file with any text editor and probably would have found the error myself.
Wonder why I didn't conclude this before. :-\
Title: Re: Hungarian Translation
Post by: ^marcell^ on May 22, 2009, 10:57:46 AM
I just checked the command you entered and it gives me 4 errors.

Three are regarding plural forms. So I opened the hu.po file with VI and fixed the affected entries by hand.
The "msg_plural" text and the "0" index was missing for these three messages.
The fourth error was concerning %ld that was %id in the translation. Probably a typo from me. ;D

Anyway, the result is that I could now compile the hu.po file without errors.
The file is attached to this post.

Code: [Select]
marcell@marcell-desktop:~/aMule/aMule-translation$ diff hu.po.old hu.po

I said I fixed it and so I did. ;) The plural forms were silently fixed by tools I run before committing translations, the format-string mismatch was fixed by hand. Anyway, thank you for your work.

P.S.: Next time if you post a diff, please use 'diff -u', easier to read.

Thanks for your updated, I've committed it now. :-)

If you have problems with diffs, you execute the following in the amule/po directory to change the format:
Code: [Select]
msgmerge new-po-file.po amule.pot > hu.poAfterwards you'll get a nice diff like the following:

.po file format is not very strict (like progam source codes), and different editors use different whitespace conventions.
- some will wrap text at a given column, some won't
- some will put more than one source reference in one line, some won't
- some will put empty lines between deleted entries, some won't
- ...

Please find the new update attached to this post.

One question though:
Code: [Select]

-#, fuzzy

-msgstr "Egy keresés állapotát jeleníti meg."
+msgstr "Egy keresés állapotának megjelenítése."

-#, fuzzy
msgid "Show the progress of a search.\n"
-msgstr "Egy keresés állapotát jeleníti meg.\n"
+msgstr "Egy keresés állapotának megjelenítése.\n"

and
Code: [Select]
m_commands.AddCommand(wxT("Progress"), CMD_ID_SEARCH_PROGRESS, wxTRANSLATE("Show the progress of a search."),
      wxTRANSLATE("Show the progress of a search.\n"), CMD_PARAM_NEVER);

Why do we have the same text twice? Once there's a newline at the and and once there isn't.
The strings are the parameters for the short and long description of the command. Is the newline really required in the long description? ::)
Btw. this is not the only text where we have such a situation.

Yes.

We should better have a real long description, though the author  ::) was lazy to write one.
