Can you update to SVN 9585 please?

I think that when Festor has completed building it,
he will let us know.
Please dont try to rush him; like you and me, he also has a life,
and he doesnt get paid for these builds!
We should be grateful for what we are given,
and not ask for more.

As he did. I needed to know if my own SVN build's instability was unique.

great!

We could now remove wx2.8-headers, libwxgtk2.8-dbg and libwxbase2.8-dbg for 81 MB of  freed space. And also the update of amule and amule-commonalso marks more than 70 MB of space freed: 150MB with one shoot.

After that I clicked Check button in Update Manager but I couldn't find r9833 update.
How to do I do?

Festor (who was providing aMule SVN packages for Ubuntu) seems to be away. To use a newer SVN version you have to compile (http://wiki.amule.org/index.php/HowTo_Compile_In_Debian) it from sources (http://amule.sourceforge.net/tarballs/) yourself.

I use Ubuntu 9.10.
How can I install aMule SVN?

There are no SVN builds available for 9.10 (=Karmic Koala) yet,
so you will have to compile (http://wiki.amule.org/index.php/HowTo_Compile_In_Debian) it from sources (http://amule.sourceforge.net/tarballs/) yourself,
or (patiently) wait for Festor's new builds, which he will post here.

now it is as in the sshot, but yesterday there wasn't. Doesn't matter...

By the way, how are we far from the final release, is there a roadmap?
Title: Re: Ubuntu SVN deb packages
Post by: Stu Redman on December 30, 2009, 06:26:22 PM
Final? You mean 2.3? Final would mean stop of development.
Here is a rough roadmap for 2.3:
- X   big event (totally open when)
- X + y  fixed eventual casualties caused by X
- X + y + 2 months   tied up loose ends blocked by X for 18 months (), 2.3 Beta
- X + y + 3 months   release of 2.3
Disclaimer: that's pure guesswork of mine

ok, ok: I do mean 2.3.0 final, and don't want guys to stop hacking on it.

So it is X+y+2+3='soon'.
(you're always upon the stage of a joke when you ask about it...)
Title: Re: Ubuntu SVN deb packages
Post by: Stu Redman on December 30, 2009, 09:56:20 PM
Just X + y + 3, let's not make it worse than it already is.  :-\
Title: Re: Ubuntu SVN deb packages
Post by: GonoszTopi on December 30, 2009, 09:58:23 PM
You could have already calculated it. See, let's take the above equation "X+y+2+3=soon" and the fact that we're waiting for 2.3.0. If you assign numbers to letters, you can see that n=3, o=2 and the only remaining number left is 0, thus s=0. That is, for the next release you'll have to wait 0223.

P.S.: Before anyone would point out that X+y+2+3 is not the mathematical equivalent of what Stu said, it's probably closer to truth because of the two bonus months it gives us ;)

<edit>Stu was faster replying, but it doesn't count.</edit>
