I have found that assigning 'Friend Slot' status unilaterally to a reluctant source can accelerate progress through the queue, even reverse retrograde tendency. It seems, however, that each change in queue position now cancels that assignment, and this seems to have changed only recently. Can the 'stickiness' be restored? It's a bit of a bind finding a forwards tendency reversing and having to restore the Slot.
I'd also be interested to know (if it can be investigated) whether this performance-boost is occurring self-to-server, server-to-source or self-to-source? From here, ping timings give little indication.
