sorry guys, i've lost my internet connection for a few days :(
from the irc channel i got to know that compile != run so im no longer in a need of compilation under console system because i will still not be able to run it ( without installing / faking X )
-
But faking X ist quite easy...
you can run it with xvfb without running x easily as described here (http://www.amule.org/wiki/index.php/FAQ_aMule#Is_there_any_way_to_start_aMule_with_no_graphical_interface%3F)
xvfb is available as a package for most distros and therefore easy to install.

heh i've managed to install xvfb... now im trying to compile amule under console system :/

Well, i was also interested to run aMule in a console-only environment (e.g. in my residential linux gateway to share DSL connection to my house). As it haves only an EGA monitor and I really access it only via ssh, there's no manner to put X on it (not even x with frame buffer). So I was wondering in, like eMule, a 'daemonized' version, with an html server to manage it from browser or remote client (like giFT does too). Don't know if that could be an idea for the aMule project, but I think eMule is almost there (with it's web interface and mobilemule).
I would be glad to be able to run aMule on my console-only system!

This is work in progress and hevly worked on. Don't expect it for aMule 2.0.0 fnal release but maybe for 2.1 or so ;-) (or whenever it is achieved).
Just have in mind that, as soon s possible, in some time, it will be there. You'll be able to run it with X GUI, with console only, with ncurses (maybe) with html server, etc ....
Greetings!
