You have to wait on other people's queues, is that simple. You're not going to start downloading right away because there's people waiting before you, it has nothing to do with the credit system.

Yep. It's really that simple. But speed depends on many different things, like how many files you download at the same time, how many sources these files have, etc. When I download about 10-12 files at the same time, each one having about 80-100 sources, I get very high speeds (it fills my download speed, about 75kB/s) but when I download files with very few sources (2-3) then my download speeds are very low. It's the way it works, like a casino. Sometimes you win, sometimes you don't, it's all about "luck"  and knowing how to "manipulate" it :P
