Topic: Is there any way to jump-start a file that's just sitting there? (Read 2086 times)

I have a number of files that are almost completed, and yet they are seemingly being ignored. I "stopped" and "paused" most of my newer files so that these nearly completed files could finish downloading , but I still cannot get these files to the finish line.

Any advice, hints or even tricks?

yes, increase your upload speed to about 85% of your maximum real upload speed, and wait until you go up in the other people's queues.

Preferences. If your maximum upload speed is 30kB/s, set it to about 23kB/s. To know the real value, do a speed test (www.dslreports.com/stest).

BTW, what happens if I just leave both upload and download speeds at the default setting, which is 0 (zero)?

upload to zero means no limit, so the uploads will eat all of your available upload bandwidth, which is no good. Same for downloads.
