HighID and KAD ok = Slow Downloads
« on: July 24, 2007, 04:30:35 PM »

Greetings!
I'm a Linux user for a year now and I'm still clueless about why having a HighID and Kad running fine (ok) amule have  still such a slow download connection. The port on my router are correctly forwarded to my computer ( I did change the defaults ports, just in case) and there is no way to have a good download speed.  My connection is ADSL (I hacked my way into the ISP modem and forwarded all the ports to my router's IP). I should be downloading at least at 50 kb/s but so far that is just a wet dream.
My currently download speed is 7.3 kb/s and the upload speed is a steady 26 kb/s.  My hired speed  is 130 kb/s download/52 kb/s upload.
Maybe I'm looking in the wrong place in the configs?

Regards,

well, first things first: Please remove the names of the stuff you download from the pic, since there might be copyrighted material and we do not want trouble here. Second, all of your files with maybe 3-4 exceptions seem to be low on sources. Some do not even have a source. Third, how long have you been waiting? there are queues and stuff, so you must wait for a download to start. Fourth, your config seems OK, if you get highID and OK on kad, you are fine.

Regards.

Which is the maximum download speed your aMule has ever seen? (check the statistics tree). Also, how is your UL/DL ratio (also in statistics tree)?

Maximum DL rate is 13.09
Maximum UL rate is 26.55
UL/DL ratio is 9.57:1

I think it could be faster. Am I wrong?

yep, it definitely could go faster, but as I said previously, you do not have real tons of sources, so maybe you cannot go faster. Just for a test, search for some file which it should be highly popular (more than 500 sources) and start downloading. It should download really fast.

Hint: recent movies usually work for this test.
