Hello,
I'm using aMule 2.2.6 on GNU/Linux Fedora 14 64-bit. I'm running Kernel Linux 2.6.35.11-83.fc14.x86_64 and XFCE 4.6.2.
I have 21 active downloads (about 4GB size each ones).
I notice that if I change the upload and download speeds directly from the tray bar icon after few minutes the aMule icon disappears from the tray bar, and I need to restart aMule. It happens to me about 4 or 5 times in the last days. I didn't used to switch upload and download speeds through the tray bar icon, but now I do.
Best regards,
Gianluca

Ps.: thank you for your work ;) you rock!
Pps.: I'm going to install the SVN version, before that I need to study how to install it on the wiki ;D

Please try changing the speeds from the preferences menu instead and see if that also has the effect.
There is an out of memory bug when download speed is limited at the moment, see for a patch:

Yes, it happens even if I change the download speed limit from the preference window.
I note that the OS become slow and I can't do anything (i.e. exit from aMule).
I'll try your advice, thank you Stu  ;)
