Hi all!

My computer dualboots winXP and Mandrakelinux 10.0. I have installed emule on windows (0.42g), and amule on linux (2.0.0RC4a). My temp and incoming folders are on a FAT32 partition.

The problem is whenever I switch from linux to windows, emule complains that all my .part files might be corrupted and rehashes them. Same behavior for amule when switching from windows to linux. Also, aMule erases the category information, so when on emule, all of my files are on the default category. Any way to fix this two problems? they are really annoying.

First problem is because of the fat32 partition. aMule and eMule store the date of the met file and the date on the met itself to check for corrupted met files. but fat32 is VERY special on this regards, and it's kinnda hard to use the date/time functions on files on linux to sync to the win32 behaviour.


Second problem: problem is, eMule stores the category info on it's config files, and not on Incoming folder. So does aMule. They don't share the same config dir. Problem.

OK, thanks for the reply. But then...is there any way to keep my temp and incoming folders shared between emule and amule and none of them to complain about corrupted files when switching? maybe using a different filesystem? I'm not sure, but I just choose FAT32 because I think it's well supported by many platforms (including linux and windows).

Also, thanks for explaining the categories thing...no problem with that, I'll find a way to solve it, I hope.

You can use the eMule directories, but the hashing will be done when switching. There's no way to fix that, it's a FAT32 problem nothig to do with eMule or aMule. Sorry
